Easily evaluate zero speed fin stabilizer performance with the ShipMo3D toolset
The defence and leisure marine industries commonly use zero speed capable fin stabilizers. A new zero speed fin stabilizer model is now available in the ShipMo3D toolset. The inputs are integrated with the existing fin stabilizer functionality. The results show changes to RMS motions in specific sea states and motion RAO. The user can specify a threshold forward speed at which the stabilizer model switches from zero speed to forward speed operation to facilitate rapid and consistent evaluation across a range of conditions.

Command line access to ShipMo3D applications for scripting and automation
To evaluate hydrodynamics and ship motion in a seaway, a sequence of ShipMo3D toolset sub-applications is required. Command line access to these sub-applications with a valid license is now possible. This opens the possibility to custom scripting and automation for more wide ranging and systematic evaluation of ship motion.
Project auto-detect path
Working with the ShipMo3D toolset sub-applications may require opening and finding many files within the working folder. A significant change is that the ShipMo3D toolset now auto detects files in the local working folder to make navigation and working with files much faster and easier during project set up and use.
Updates to sample ShipMo3D toolset projects
All sample projects now come with pre-computed wave radiation and diffraction data. This facilitates rapid learning and evaluating as users can run seakeeping and maneuvering analysis within a few minutes of work. Additional changes include:
- New 35m Generic Yacht project
- Zero speed fin stabilizer BuildShip configurations for 35m and 50m Generic Yacht projects
- Single and two-pair zero speed fin stabilizer configuration for 95m Generic Yacht project
- Consolidated Stabilizer Generic Frigate with new BuildShip configuration file within Generic Frigate project
